Surya Paloh

 The author of this book is one of Surya Paloh assistant Named Usamah Hisyam. He is a journalist and a politician once, he has served in important position like National Council, Private Assistant of Vice President and many more. But now he is a publisher and the author of some national figure biography book.  The first publication of this book is on February 2014 by Dharmapena Citra Media Company. 

 This have a controversy, because the title "Ideologues" is only acceptable  to some one who already pass away.  But the author have different point of view. Because the author has special relationship with Surya Paloh.  Almost in every family trip,  Surya Paloh always invited the author. Well it is travelling to Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia and travel to Umroh.  The author can recognize the figure,  personality,  and the thinking of Surya Paloh as The Ideologues. 

  This book is well-structured. This book explain the struggle of Surya Paloh in last 15 years after the Reformation.  The Prologue explain the struggle the young age of Surya Paloh as a politician,  struggle of democracy,  and become the initiator of Nasional Demokrat mass organization.  The First five chapters,  tell the story how Surya Paloh to the realization of his  consistences of ideology by Indonesian Restoration . The next four chapter explain about Surya Paloh effort and his wings organization.  Next in chapter 10 tell us the dynamic and challenge to Surya Paloh as an entrepreneur,  politician and a social-minded. The last is the big dream of The Ideologues about the future of Indonesia.

 The language that used also easy to understand. It makes the reader feel the real moment.  This book also provide many picture. Which writer think is important to show the credibility of the writer. The pages also appropriate with the story. For story about last 15 years this book have a complete pages.  And last I agree with the opinion of the author that the predicate "The Ideologues " don't have to be given at the time the person died. don't need to anyway after the ideology of the successfully realized. Because even our ideology The Five Principle didn't realize until today. 

But there is a critic to this book,  I think that the deliver of the story is long-winded which make reader easy to bored.

Overall,  this book is educated. It can deliver message to all level in society.

Apathetic

After I was born on 19 January 1999  until today I still wondering about what I become next?  How is my future?  What is really matter to do now?  Which way that I should take to make my future better than the state  of me now.
 After reading this book I really inspired with Mr.  Surya Paloh who have a clear philosophy and a way of life.
 That show in the book that since young age He already have ambition to make this beautiful country Prosperous,  Dignified and Strong.   His ideology make me understand the important become a nationalist,  because same as like as many other new generation I always apathetic with all happened in my country.
 This book change my mind, that if there is no reason for someone become apathetic in this country,  because we have a lot of problem in economy, discrepancy social, education, and infrastructure. So that why people have a freedom to state his opinion to criticism and tell go the Government what they need. So we need a clean Parliament  and we need hardworking President because Indonesia is big country we need a big work and big thinking so we can fix some problem and Indonesia will become one of influence country in the world.

The Saddest Day with all the Sorrow

26 December 2004
A natural disaster that shook the world happen in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.  A 9,2 Richter Tectonic earthquake in Hindia Ocean with a depth of 10 km, centered about 150 km south of the City of Meulaboh, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.  An earthquake with accompanied by the wave of tsunami was very powerful and swept some offshore areas in Indonesia. Specially Aceh and North Sumatra. Also Sri Lanka,  India,  Bangladesh,  Thailand,  Malaysia.
 An earthquake that had to swallow 283.100 soul is the most distressing disaster in Indonesia. A lot of people lost their house,  their family,  their school, even their future.  Anyone who saw firsthand this incident would cry. A lot of the bodies of people who can not to save themselves by the wild tsunami waves.
I cried when read this chapter, some how I feel so sad when remembered that moment.  When I was read this chapter I also watch YouTube to gain my feeling, to fresh my memories about every thing that happen in that day.
Thanks to Allah,  none of my family become a victims of that disaster, My family or the parent of my father lived in North Aceh so they only feel the earthquake. They are save from the tsunami.

Learning Something New Every Day


In the previous post, Writer didn't mention the the book that used as my biographical review, but if you see it again there is  a picture of a book with black cover titled "Surya Paloh. Matahari Restorasi : Sang Ideolog" Reflective Journal 2 : Review a Biographical Book
 The reason writer choose this book is because this book is special.  This is a present for writer's mother given by Prananda Surya Paloh the only son of Surya Paloh in a special meeting to give some aspiration in social issues. In that time Prananda a member of first committee  in National 4Council.
 This book told writer a lot of history that  actually happen in past time.  Start with how politic works in New Order era. The struggle of politician,  activist,  journalist the society the fight the authoritarian government of President Suharto include the struggle of Surya Paloh as the main story of this book in freedom of democracy in press by by struggle for the change of Basic Provisions Press Act in 1982 become Act number 40 in 1999. Also how Surya Paloh raise the spirit of democracy by using his television stations Metro TV and many more.

How to Build interest to the biographical book?

As I explained in my first reflective journal Reflective Journal 1 : How to choose your biographical book I think it is important to build interesting in our biographical book based what are you mastered. It doesn't you really mastered like a expert but at least you know it well. 
 In this review there are some issues that I need to get interest.  This book is discussing some issues in country, such as  ideology,  economy, politics, journalism. 

Honestly,  I didn't really mastered those things, but I know it well except the journalism. Because I don't know it at all.  It is something that I didn't really care about, so that my problem. I challenge my self to understand every issues.
 There a are some articles that discuss how to get interest in life,  to summaries there somethings we need to do to get interest on some thing,  (1)Doing something new. Take a step out to 
our comfort zone (2) Do not over thinking to the purpose of life because because we have one that there nothing more interest than living. (3) Do not envy. Never compare our life with others.
These tips are helpful for me because I didn't realize that is so easy to make a change,  to make an interest,  to make some things new. 
As long as I read the book. I realize that every issues presented can easy catch by common people.  Because the way authors deliver are contextual and credible.
